Looking for the perfect day on the water? Whether you're a paddleboarding or kayaking enthusiast—or trying it for the first time—this itinerary is for you!


Start your adventure at the Parc du canal de Soulanges' rental kiosk, where you can rent all the equipment you need. If you have your own gear, this is also a great spot to launch your board or kayak. Then, set out to explore the calm waters of the historic Soulanges Canal—a scenic route perfect for taking your time and soaking in the beautiful surroundings.


For lunch, stop by the Café-Boulangerie Deux Grains au Moulin, a charming bakery where you can grab a delicious takeout meal. Then, head over to Bourg des Cèdres vineyard, just a short drive away, to enjoy your meal with a glass of local wine.


In the afternoon, make your way to the Village des Écluses, the perfect place to unwind on a spacious waterfront terrace. Feeling adventurous? Hop back on your paddleboard or try electric surfing (reservation required)! On weekends, the terrace comes alive in the evening with live music performances.

During the summer, it is now possible to experience the canal in a whole new way! Paddling! In downtown Coteau-du-Lac, directly on the Soulanges bicycle path, a rental container for non-motorized boats is installed. Perfect for cooling off on hot summer days! There are single, double kayaks and paddle boards. Consult canaldesoulanges.ca for current prices. At all time, children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent for rental. Please remember to bring sunscreen, a bottle of water, a snack and appropriate clothing. Ready to paddle?

Stretching on 23.5 km, the Canal de Soulanges is an old waterway that connects the municipalities of Pointe-des-Cascades, Les Cedres, Coteau-du-Lac and Les Coteaux. Inaugurated in 1899 and closed to navigation in 1959, the Canal de Soulanges is considered a major heritage in Vaudreuil-Soulanges. Take a ride of bicycle on the Soulanges bike path along the canal towards the municipalities of Saint-Zotique and Rivière-Beaudette. Discover the major points such as the Village des Écluses, the Parc des Ancres, the locks, the Petit Pouvoir and l'Embouchure on your way. The parking lots are at : Pointe-des-Cascades (67, ch. du Fleuve), Les Cèdres (Saint-Féréol near of the intersection of route 338), Coteau-du-Lac (20, rue Principale) and Les Coteaux (51, chemin du Fleuve).
