From June 20 to September 2, inclusive, during regular opening hours, visit the interpretation center featuring a model, the remains of Canada's first lock canal, a picnic area with a view of the St. Lawrence River, and a floral garden for monarch butterflies. The Lieu historique national de Coteau-du-Lac hosts continuous presentations on the history of the blockhouse and several discovery activities.

Visit the Lieu historique national de Coteau-du-Lac, home to one of the oldest lock canals in North America as well as the remains of a British fortification. The site brings together over 7,000 years of history along the shores of Lake Saint-François. Explore it by walking the grounds and learning from the interpretive panels available on-site. Enjoy the ever-present natural surroundings and take the opportunity to have a picnic! Consider getting there by bike, as the site is easily accessible via the region’s cycling network. An on-site tourist information station will help you discover other attractions in the area. Now, step into a place rich in history!
