The Théâtre des Cascades is a historical icon that belongs to the Montérégie region’s rich cultural heritage. The inhabitants of Vaudreuil-Soulanges shared a desire to one day see this local treasure revived. The organization Rendez-vous took it upon itself to revitalize the area, transforming it a unique site that could be enjoyed by the community, with social, cultural, and recreational activities for the whole family.
Following two years of inactivity, the Théâtre des Cascades site has been reborn as the Village des Écluses and is now finally ready to welcome visitors. Families, friends, and colleagues can take advantage of its unique leisure offer, inviting restaurant and terrace, and cultural events taking place throughout the year. The Village des Écluses welcomes locals as well as anyone else wanting to come and explore this charming corner of the Montérégie and everything it has to offer!
The Village des Écluses is... A paradise for outdoor enthusiasts
There is a lovely beach here that’s ideal for little ones who want to spend the day building sandcastles. Swimming is permitted, but it should be noted that the beach is unsupervised. It’s also a perfect spot for teens and adults who are eager to try their hand at paddleboarding or who want to take a relaxing paddle in a kayak on Lac Saint-Louis. And for thrill-seekers wanting a different kind of watersport experience, the Village des Écluses has electric surfboards available for rent.
Watercraft (kayaks and paddleboards) and bicycle rentals, in collaboration with Halte Plein Air, daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Electric surfboard rentals, in collaboration with Ecosurf, daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
There is an easy hike nearby at the Parc Nature de Pointe-des-Cascades. Bike enthusiasts can pedal along the scenic Soulanges bike path bordering the Canal de Soulanges all the way to the Village des Écluses, where they can relax with a refreshing drink.
A big plus: leashed dogs are permitted on the site at all times, so your four-legged companion is welcome to join you!

All summer long, up to mid-October, the Village organizes more than a dozen events in a fun, relaxed atmosphere!
Here’s what you can enjoy in 2022:
- From July 2 to August 21: Theatre production Les beaux mystères de Mister Lebeau
- Every Thursday during the summer: Up-and-coming musical artists set the mood for relaxed evenings on the terrace
- July 21, 22 and 23: Campers’ Christmas, featuring a musical program and a craft market
- August 20: Pointe-des-Cascades’ annual party and launch of the Route des Arts with exhibitions and a craft market.
- Mid-September to early October: Oktoberfest with German-inspired festivities, beer, authentic food, and musical events you don’t want to miss!
The Village des Écluses is also... A perfect destination for a good time with friends!
The terrace right on the beach offers a superb view of Lac Saint-Louis with the best sunsets in town! Open from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays, and from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. Enjoy alcoholic beverages at the bar, run in collaboration with the Le Castor Brewing Company, a local microbrewery that offers several beers inspired by regional flavours!
Enjoy snack-bar classics at the restaurant, in collaboration with Signature BBQ.
If you feel like a picnic, you’re welcome to bring your own, or pick up some sandwiches, salads, and other delicious summertime family favourites at the café.
And, of course, the Village des Écluses is... A camper’s dream!
Whether you lay your head in a tent, a trailer, or a recreational vehicle, take advantage of the campsites on Lac Saint-Louis or the Canal de Soulanges. A variety of sites, both with and without services, are available, which can be rented by the day, week, month, or for the entire season.
All are within easy access to the Village’s activities.
