In collaboration with the Ornithological Club of Vaudreuil-Soulanges, join us for a guided birdwatching hike in the Pointe-des-Cascades Nature Park.
You'll have the opportunity to discover the park's bird habitats in their natural environment.
Please use the parking lot at the soccer field located at 61 Chemin du Fleuve in Pointe-des-Cascades. This activity is suitable for all ages, from beginners to expert birdwatchers. No equipment is required. However, it is recommended to bring binoculars, hiking shoes, and weather-appropriate clothing.
In the event of light rain or low chance of showers, the activity will proceed as scheduled. In case of heavy rain, the activity will be canceled.
At the far eastern end of Pointe-des-Cascades, nature lovers will be enchanted by a conservation area with features found nowhere else in the region. Paths lead you through woods, old quarries, swamps, and ponds that are full of unique wildlife at all times of year. A favourite spot for picnics, the park is also well-loved for its collection of old locks, jetties, and lighthouses overlooking the confluence of the Ottawa and St-Lawrence Rivers. Boaters can take advantage of two boat launches, while others can simply enjoy the picnic tables by the shore. The park is also easily accessible from the Soulanges Canal bike path, so take this chance to discover one of the region's best-kept secrets!
